We didn't start out as some massive firm. Just a couple of accountants who were tired of watching great tech ideas fail because of preventable financial mistakes.
Founded by two CPAs who met at a tech conference and realized there's a massive gap in the market. Tech founders were getting generic advice that didn't fit their reality - fast growth, investor expectations, burn rates, all that stuff traditional accountants weren't equipped to handle.
Helped a SaaS startup navigate their Series A funding round - structured everything so they maximized their runway and minimized tax hits. That company's now worth over $100M. Word spread pretty fast after that, and suddenly we're getting calls from VCs referring their portfolio companies to us.
Moved into our Burrard Street office and brought on specialists in R&D tax credits (SRED), cross-border transactions, and equity compensation. We realized tech accounting isn't just about knowing debits and credits - it's about understanding cap tables, option pools, and how to explain burn rate to investors.
When the market got rough, we didn't bail on our clients. Instead, we helped dozens restructure, cut costs smartly, and position themselves for survival. Some tough conversations, sure, but we're proud that 90% of our clients from that period are still operating today.
